Young Virgin Islanders on the Legislative Youth Advisory Council pleaded for a new high school on St. John and more teachers territory-wide, at the council’s second St. Thomas town hall meeting Monday at the V.I. Legislature.
The council heard from students, Education Department officials, the V.I. Board of Education, Labor Department officials and others.
In addition to long commute times which impact health, student’s ability to learn, and extracurricular program participation for youth on St. John, testifying youth stated that they need more teachers.
